How an SEO-led restructure helped Road Hero, the space saver spare wheel specialists, capture high-intent search demand at scale, without selling a single unit directly online.

Road Hero is a leading supplier of space saver spare wheel kits. The brief was to improve organic search performance to drive greater awareness and increase product demand, repositioning the site as a strong competitor in the ecommerce landscape.
The existing website, built on an older WordPress setup, was limiting growth from both a technical and a user experience perspective, with unclear navigation making it harder for users to find the right product efficiently.
Road Hero operates in a landscape dominated by large direct-to-consumer ecommerce retailers, but does not sell directly online: users must locate a retailer to complete their purchase. That creates an uneven playing field against established ecommerce sites in organic search.
Worse, key product pages were not indexable at all. Products were generated dynamically by an on-site selector tool that search engines could not see, so a large portion of potential search demand was simply not being captured.
A full SEO-led restructure of the site, delivered with an external development team: a scalable, search-optimised architecture aligned with how people actually look for spare wheels, supported by full-funnel content and, crucially, indexable product pages.
New landing page types targeting high-intent queries at every level: car make, then make and model, each guiding users to the right product.
Fully indexable product pages replaced the dynamic selector-only system, exposing the full range to search engines for the first time.
Informational content to educate and build authority, with the selector tool explained across key pages so users, search engines and LLMs understand its value.
Keyword tracking validated the strategy: core commercial terms such as spare wheel kit rose from position 7 to 3, and previously untargeted queries now rank on page one. The client reported their record month of sales in March 2026.
The growth was qualified, not just bigger: impressions and clicks rose together, showing the site now appears for relevant, intent-driven searches.
